I grew up in Arizona and headed to New York City just two weeks after graduating college. I didn’t have much of a plan beyond knowing that I wanted to live in the city. Sixteen years and two careers later, I made another big move — this time across the country to Los Angeles, which I now call home.
My love affair with hair started long before it became my career. I’ve been tinting, trimming, and experimenting with my own hair since I was 14 — from platinum to pink, with plenty of “natural” shades along the way.
I actually started my career in television production before realizing I wanted to turn that lifelong love of hair into something more. I enrolled at the Aveda Institute and earned my New York cosmetology license, fully expecting that I’d eventually make my way back to television and do hair there. My plan was to spend some time in a salon first, get great training, and then move on.
Turns out, I loved the salon and never left.
More than 15 years later, I still genuinely love what I do. My career has taken me backstage at New York Fashion Week, working with designers including Wes Gordon, Marissa Webb, Thakoon and J. Mendel, to collaborating with beauty brands like Rare Beauty and Tarte Cosmetics. Along the way, I’ve had the opportunity to work with clients including Nicky Hilton, Milla Jovovich, Juliet Angus and K-pop group Girlset, and my work and expertise have been featured in Allure, InStyle, Glamour, Women’s Health and Real Simple.
As exciting as those moments have been, my favorite part of this career has always been much simpler: the people who sit in my chair every day.
My passion is helping my clients make their hair dreams a reality — whether that means creating an effortless, lived-in blonde, finding the cut or color they’ve been trying to describe forever, or simply making their hair feel like them, only better. I want you to love your hair every day, not just the day you leave the salon. That means talking about how you actually live with your hair, teaching you how to care for it at home, and sharing styling tricks that make your life a little easier.
And somewhere between the foils and blowouts, we’ll probably end up talking about our families, where we’re traveling next, what we’re watching or reading, and — very likely — where we should be eating.
That same curiosity carries into the other side of my career: education. I genuinely love learning, taking classes, refining my techniques, and sharing what I’ve learned with other stylists. I don’t think there’s ever a point in this industry when you’re finished learning. There’s always something new to discover and something worth passing along.
